Good. Most people who walk in here haven't. Our beginner classes are built for the person who's been thinking about it for two years and finally showed up. First class is free and you won't be hit.
4,000 square feet on Farnam. Open thirty minutes before every class if you want to wrap up early.
The reason people put this off for years is not knowing what they're walking into. So here it is, start to finish.
Show up ten minutes early in shorts and a t-shirt. We'll lend you gloves and wraps. You don't buy anything on day one.
Skipping, shadowboxing, movement. Everyone looks awkward here, including the people who've been coming for years.
A coach walks you through two or three strikes. That's it — two or three. You'll drill them until they feel less strange.
Tired, probably sore tomorrow, and nobody hit you. Sparring is optional and months away. That's a promise, not a policy.
Beginner classes are marked in red. Start there regardless of how athletic you are — the technique is the barrier, not the fitness.

"I circled the parking lot twice before going in the first time. Eight months later I'm here four days a week. Nobody made me feel like I didn't belong."
— Erin M. · Member since 2025
"I'm 44 and hadn't exercised in a decade. They scaled everything. I was tired, not injured, and I came back Thursday."
— Tom R. · Member since 2024
"The coaching is the difference. Sarun corrects one thing per round instead of overwhelming you with ten. It actually sticks."
— Jalen W. · Amateur fighter
No. Sparring is entirely optional and only opens up after months of training, by invitation. Plenty of long-term members have never sparred once and never will. Fundamentals classes involve no contact between students at all.
This is the most common reason people delay for years, and it's backwards. Classes are scaled — you rest when you need to and nobody comments. Getting in shape is what the class is for.
Shorts, a t-shirt, and water. We lend gloves and wraps for your first several classes. If you decide to stay, we'll help you pick your own gear and there's no rush on it.
Roughly 40% of our members are women, and Dana runs both a women's-only session on Wednesday mornings and the Saturday beginner class. You're welcome to come watch a class first without training.
Adult classes are 15 and up. We don't currently run a kids' program.
You've read the whole page. That's usually the last step before the parking lot. Pick a Fundamentals class and come in.
